Essential Functions:
Drive efficiencies through automation and operational excellence.
Develop solutions by utilizing automation toolsets and application like BMC and Systems Center.
Write, troubleshoot, modify, and enhance complex Microsoft PowerShell scripts, SQL and T-SQL scripts.
Develop custom solutions using Microsoft Systems Center.
Develop database and web applications using C#, T-SQL and/or PowerShell for supporting automation initiatives.
Troubleshoot, identify and resolve issues with Microsoft infrastructure.
Support an enterprise database infrastructure with hundreds of databases.
Troubleshoot and provide technical solutions to database issues encountered by new and existing applications in the environment.
Troubleshoot and provide technical solutions to environment related issues encountered by new and existing applications in the environment.
Demonstrate strong hands-on experience in Microsoft IIS 5/6/7.x/8.x and SQL Server 2005/2008/2008R2/2012 features, SQL Server Replication, Data Recovery, and Clustering/Always On by developing long-term solutions for operational issues through automation.
Evaluate and implement new technologies for service automation.
Performance tuning of Microsoft Technologies and Operating system.
Demonstrate knowledge of VMWare hypervisor, EMC/NetApp Storage, backup technologies using Netbackup, cloning and snapshot.
Manage client priorities and expectations by establishing agreed service levels.
Assist in the mentoring and coaching of team members.
Actively monitor the Microsoft platforms to increase efficiency, improve reliability, and minimize operating expenses.
Responsible for coordinating service improvement projects as a technical lead, architect, providing design and implementation standards to team members.
Provide technical leadership to outsourced global development team thru project leadership and technical documentation and outage management.
Establish and maintain operational metrics that align to customer experience.
Demonstrate a strong sense of internal customer satisfaction as a top priority.
Provide on-going communication of status of projects and implementation.
Create a positive, supportive, and team-focused working environment.
Play a proactive role in developing and applying Best in Class approaches/practices to our operational readiness.
Partner with the Solution Architecture / Delivery team to establish sound handoffs and detailed documentation standards before new builds are accepted into the production environment.
Analyze and tune application performance by optimizing SQL, stored procedures and triggers.
Assist with stored procedure design and package development as required by development projects.
Collaborate with other infrastructure teams to establish platform standards and best practices.
Provide input towards the direction of future technology for Microsoft.
Exposure to ITIL V3 Methodology for IT Service Management
REQUIREMENTS:
B.S. degree in Information Technology, Business Administration or other technical discipline.
5
years of technical experience in Microsoft web and database environments
Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice.
Ability to work with customers, staff, and projects in multiple locations across the United States and Internationally.
