IT Engineer
One of the nation's leading media corporations seeks an IT engineer with both hardware and software experience to provide technical support for all broadcast equipment including, but not limited to, master control, encoding, transmission, and IT systems related to the On-Air Distribution of Cable Entertainment and Live Sports Broadcasts.
Responsiblities:
Be a key member of the engineering team supporting distribution of cable, news, and sports assets
Support and maintain broadcast facility and master control environment including corrective and scheduled preventative maintenance for all broadcast equipment
Support and maintain Cisco, Motorola, & Tandberg video encoding systems
Support and maintain computer and IT networking systems
Support and maintain inbound and outbound fiber transmission system
Support and maintain post production environment
Required Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering
Understanding of digital workflows, digital systems, and signal flow
Enthusiastic about troubleshooting, learning new technologies, and figuring out how things work
Excellent technical problem solving and troubleshooting skills
In-depth knowledge of computer and IT network systems is a bonus
Must be able to analyze complex electronic problems and make recommendations for swift corrective action
Must be able to work independently, yet strong collaboration skills are required
Willing to work 3pm to 1 am shift (other shift work may occasionally be required)
Desirable Experience
Ability to code or troubleshoot coding and digital systems
Hands-on experience in master control, digital video encoding, and broadcast transmission systems
Knowledge of digital video encoding systems
In-depth knowledge of computer and IT network systems
Understanding digital workflows and Transcoding systems
Component level electronic troubleshooting skills
